Healing pictures are prayerfully and carefully designed to create an image of complete health and wholeness to a person, couple, family, place or animal that needs support.
A person in a coma can be drawn awake and with restored health and consciousness- happy and at peace. In this healing portrait the person can be surrounded by people (family, friends, co-workers, faith community) and/or things they love such as a pet, nature, flowers, or a specific place that they enjoy (their garden, a vacation spot, etc.) These healing artworks can be placed in the room in which the person is staying; people visiting can see this positive image and uphold this vision of wholeness in their thoughts and prayers.
Commissioned art works have been created of the entire earth with angels surrounding every country. Other pieces have been of a single country with accurate geographic details; the rivers are depicted as sparkling clean and lush greenery or plentiful farmlands abounding. Some country healing pictures have been made with food items such as beans and rice, with correct geographic dimensions, representing the desire that all hunger be resolved.
A widow had an art piece made of her children safe and covered by a quilt of her love. As an empty-nester the image brought her comfort.
Art has also been offered or commissioned -indirectly- for people who have lost a loved one with the motivation that it may contribute to the family’s or community’s healing.
Sometimes the artwork is more symbolic than accurately representational. Details are discussed and agreed upon between the artist and person requesting the artwork before commencement.
