For children and adults art reinforces resilience in challenging multiple avenues to solve problems. Creativity is not just for the paper but the mind and heart- owning one's creativity in daily life. For children who are pushed early to categorize everything into proper boxes, art disassembles the boxes and allows fresh air to enter into an often stifling, rigid atmosphere. For older adults, doing art keeps their minds' alert and active.
I have taught art to students of all ages in their homes; my home; private schools; public schools; homeschooling cooperatives; senior living communities; shelters; libraries; hospitals; rehabilitation centers; hospices; parks; churches; camps; and arts and crafts stores.
I have also taught students with special needs and elderly with dementia and varying levels of movement.
